A recent software update for Sony‘s PS3 console has been reported to cause older versions of the console to overheat & randomly shut down, the issue is said to mostly affect the 60GB and 80GB fat models. The consoles are said to overheat after as little as 30 minutes of gameplay causing them to display the ‘red light’ warning.
